Like all Vignettes in The Age of Decadence, this is essentially linear; it is simply the sequence of events which delivers The Map into the hands of a specific character-type (in this case, the Thief).

Quick Walkthrough

1. Talk to Cado in Teron Tavern
2. Steal everything of value you find in the merchant's room
3. Go back to Cado

Detailed Walkthrough

1. Talk to Cado in Teron Tavern.
2. Get to the upper floor of the The Last Meal Inn
   • Climb the wall (Dexterity+Strength)
     • [13]=Failure
     • [14]=Success, go to step 3
   • Use the Rope (Throwing). You can buy one from Kleitos
     • [2]
     • [3]=Success - reduces climbing check by 2
   • Sneak to the second floor (Sneak)
     • [2]=Failure
     • [3]=Success, gain 1 civil SP. Go to step 3
   • If you failed both checks:
     • Climb up the rope left by assassin (Dexterity+Strength)
       • [11]=Failure
         • Grab whatever is left and leave fast, go to step 5
         • Stay and fight (you face two guards)
       • [12]=Success
         • Search for loot (you gain some money, few gems and a ring). With Perception=[7], you also gain a Grooved Sphere, go to step 5
         • Stay and fight (you face two guards)
3. Break into the merchant's chest (Lockpick)
   • [2]=Failure, go to step 5
   • [3]=Success, gain 1 civil SP
4. Check if merchant has any valuables on himself (Steal)
   • [2]=Failure
   • [3]=Success, gain 1 civil SP. You gain few gems and a ring, with Perception=[7], you also gain a Grooved Sphere
5. Go back to Cado. If you managed to steal gems and the ring, you will have an option to give them to Cado. Doing so will award you with Lockpick +10 SP. Regardless of whether he is satisfied of your performance or not, he will afterwards direct you to Feng to show him The Map.
