Trade and Merchant Guilds have always existed but in the shadow of the apocalypse wrought by the power of the sword, the power of gold has become a far greater influence in the affairs of state. The Head Merchants have now centralized, controlling all trade. Caravans, tariffs, mines and marketplaces operate by the grace of the Commercium alone. Independent traders in outposts and remote villages still exist, but trading in towns is not without its problems or dangers.
The head of the Commercium in Teron is Linos.
The head of the Commercium in Maadoran is Strabos.
The head of the Commercium in Gannezar is Athanasius.
Merchant guild quests in Teron (spoilers): |
---|
1. Prove to Linos that Daratan Gate guards take bribes. If you have Persuasion 3 you can bribe them for 50g each. If in addition you have Trading 3 - you can do it for 25g each. If you have charisma > 4 (?) they give you additional info about bribes. After that you can return to Linos and he give you 25g for bribing guards and another 50(?) for additional info. |
2. Talk to Mercato in Tavern. This quest can be done in different ways with different outcomes.
First, you must make him lose a lot of money by either playing a game with him [inteligence 9 or 10] or cheating [dexterity + streetwise]. With [inteligence 8] you win some money, but not enough to make him indebted. If you can't do it by yourself, you can have Cado help you by threatening him [streetwise + persuasion = 6], joining his guild or signing a document that will lead to a battle in the future. After Mercato has a huge debt, you can try to persuade him to work with you [streetwise + persuasion = 7] or [persuasion + trading = 7]. You will also need [charisma + persuasion] or another [streetwise + persuasion = 7]. Additionally, you can use [charisma + streetwise]. If fail to persuade him, you still can return to Linos and ask him for second chance [persuasion 3] and this job will be ended by Zenon. |
3. Antidas want proof of conspiracy. This quest can be finished in several ways. First, if you have good charisma you can ask Mercato for help. Then you can buy or steal (?) Imperial Guard armor from one of Mercato friends and with his help enter Teron Barracks and find proofs.
Second, you can forge false proof with example of Carrinas writing. For this you enter Teron Barracks, choose the option to dress in Merchant robes, and with [Etiquette 4] or [Trading 4] you can have it. After that you need pass a [Perception + Lore] check and you will have forged the proof. When delivering the proof to Antidas, you will have to pass a [Inteligence] check. If you fail, you will have to pass a [Streetwise 4] or a [Streetwise + Etiquette]. Third way - with high etiquette and charisma you can tell Antidas that he does need proof. In this quest you can change side and pledge loyalty to Carrinas. You can also join Carrinas' cause and assault the tower. |
4. Finally, you will have to deal with the survivors of the conspiracy, who are being led by Mercato. |
