Aemolas' Gold

Aemolas' Gold is one of the quests in The Age of Decadence.

Lore

Aemolas asked you to retrieve his gold from the settlement that was attacked by raiders.

Trigger

• In order to start the quest, you have to help Aemolas with his family near Teron's gate. Ask about his village in Teron Merchants Plaza (Word of Honor:[1]).
• There is only one attempt. Gaining honor reputation after asking about the village will not trigger the quest.
• Expiry: Aemolas will not appear at the gates after you traveled to Maadoran.
• Validity: Once the quest is triggered, it will stay active at least until Act II.

Quick Walkthrough

1. Go to Aemolas Village
   • Kill 8 raiders and dig up the gold.
   • Fire at some of the raiders and fight the others (you can buy a scoped crossbow at The Fletcher at Maadoran Merchants Plaza and kill up to 5 raiders with Crossbow:[8])
   • Sneak in and dig up the gold
   • Ask for parley
     • Tell them Esbenus sent you to collect money
     • Bring Raiders to Aemolas
       • Leave Aemolas with the raiders
       • Stay with Aemolas and fight the raiders
2. Decide what to do with the gold

Detailed Walkthrough

1. Go to Aemolas Village
   • Kill 8 raiders and dig up the gold. (see Loot below) (Combat +1)
   • Fire at some of the raiders with a Scoped Standard Crossbow (or Scoped Heavy Crossbow) and fight the rest (as above, but no increase to Combat rep). You can kill up to 5 raiders this way (requires Crossbows skill)
   • Sneak in... (Sneak <= [5])
     1. Sneak <= [5] to the well
     2. Dig up the gold (Sneak = [6])
        • Success - gets gold - goto decision on what to do with the gold
        • Failure
          • Critical Strike = [5]
            • Success - gets gold - go to decision on what to do with the gold
            • Failure - Fight
          • Attack
          • Leave
   • Ask for parley
     • Tell them Esbenus sent you to collect the money Streetwise+Impersonate=[10]
       • Streetwise:[6]
       • Impersonate:[6]
     • Bring raiders to Aemolas
       • Leave Aemolas with the raiders
       • Stay with Aemolas and fight the 3 raiders
         • Regardless if Aemolas survives, you will be able to loot 1258 Gold from the Mykkos body with no penalty to Word of Honor
2. Decide what to do with the 1258 Gold:
   • Return it to Aemolas (Word of Honor +2)
     • Lose 1258 g; Gain 400 g
   • Keep it (Word of Honor -1)
